Parinaz Sobhani is the Head of AI at Georgian, a Toronto-based VC firm focused on investing in and accelerating growth-stage B2B software companies. In her role, Parinaz is at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art machine learning solutions, creating a sustainable competitive edge for the portfolio companies. With a Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa, her research specialized in natural language understanding, an area in which she has over a decade of experience developing and scaling innovative AI products.

Before her tenure at Georgian, Parinaz honed her skills at Microsoft Research, where she developed advanced end-to-end neural machine translation models. Additionally, her time at the National Research Council of Canada was marked by significant contributions to the development of deep neural network models for sentiment analysis.
